Synopsis
These notes suggest possible content for a Planning Retreat, an idea introduced in Training Notes TN54. The application is for Church Administrators and Operation Managers who get away from the church office for a day or two, although the basic structure could be used by anyone.
The suggestion is to break the time into eight segments as follows:
Priority
- Time for studying the Scriptures and prayer
Three tenses
- Review the past: both work role and discipleship
- Analyse the present: both work role and discipleship
- Plan the future: both work role and discipleship
Three applications
- Think through one work project
- Ponder one discipleship issue
- Chew over one book, set of web articles, etc

- Time for a fun activity
